Network - Printing & Plotting
Print server
Centralised queue management, image processing and job logging
for printing and plotting. Print servers function to remove
print jobs as rapidly as possible from CAD or admin workstations
thereby minimising wait states. Print server software can run,
manage and advertise print queues for multiple output devices
on the network. Raster image processing (RIP) software or any
printer driver is very processor intensive, and can utilise
considerable amounts of memory (RAM) to convert CAD vector files
or colour image files into a language that printers understand.
Such demands may cripple the speed of any file serving or foreground
application being used on the same machine. Print job logging
can provide the basis for project costings information. faÇADe
can design and implement the appropriate set up to match requirements.
